THE ASUS ROG PHONE II GAMING SMARTPHONE IS ALREADY ON THE MARKET

Asus finally fulfilled the promise to introduce the second generation of gaming smartphones, ROG Phone. The product launch targeting the high-end segment was conducted on Monday (9/23). Unfortunately not in Indonesia, but in India.

The gamer's dream smartphone is priced from Rs37,999 (~ Rp7.6 million) to 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variants and Rs59,999 (~ Rp12 million) for 12GB RAM and 512GB storage models. ROG Phone II is equipped with a large 6,000mAh battery that supports the Quick Charge 4.0 standard fast charging.

"We are very pleased to bring the best gaming phone, ROG Phone II to India. Inspired by recognition from international media, influencers and consumers from all over the world, we strive to push innovation further beyond its limits, "Jonney Shih, Chairman of ASUS, said in a statement.

ROG Phone II is equipped with a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen that has a resolution of 1080x2340p with an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9 and 10-bit HDR support.

This device is powered by a new Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset with a Qualcomm Adreno 640 GPU. In the camera sector, the ROG Phone II has a 48MP main camera, accompanied by a 13MP wide angle camera with a 125 degree field of view. There is also a 24MP front camera for selfies.

In Indonesia alone, Asus is targeting ROG Phone II to be enjoyed by consumers in the country by the end of this year.

Previously the first generation ROG Phone failed to be imported, due to constraints on TKDN rules. Though the Taiwanese company has announced it can sell ROG Phone I at the end of 2018.

According to Asus PR Manager Muhammad Firman, there are obstacles that are difficult to overcome by companies in bringing the first generation ROG Phone. At that time Asus chose the TKDN software. But apparently fulfillment felt far more difficult than manufacturing.

"That is why, so as not to beat around the bush, we change the production of ROG Phone II into a manufacturing line," said Firman.

At present the production process is still being carried out through Asus (Electronic Manufacturing Services) partner in Batam, namely PT Satnusa Persada. Hopefully, if there are no obstacles, ROG Phone II can be enjoyed by the people of Indonesia in November, added Firman.
